Mission

Out in the Sticks Cultural Association Inc. is organized exclusively for charitable artistic, cultural and educational purposes. All the Association’s activities shall be carried on in furtherance of the main objectives and there will be no pecuniary gain to the members.
The main objectives of the Association are:
  • 1. 1. To educate and increase the public's understanding and appreciation of the arts and to provide the access to the culture for the inhabitants of underserved rural communities in Stone Mills and Frontenac Townships, Ontario and Canada, by establishing, maintaining and operating the Culture Centre and the Art Gallery, providing performances and exhibitions in the Culture Centre and in public spaces, providing seminars, workshops and other events related to culture.
  • 2. To establish, maintain and operate an annual art festival in Yarker, Ontario.
  • 3. To provide presentation, publicity and marketing opportunities for artists, especially for those excluded from such opportunities for social, financial or geographical limitations ( e.g. artists living in rural areas, immigrants, Aboriginal artists, young and emerging artists).
  • 4. To maintain creative and meaningful cultural exchange between different rural and urban communities and between the artists and the public, in Canada and abroad.
  • 5. To create and maintain the opportunities of cooperation between the artists and the community, by organizing and operating events that will involve such cooperation, mutual appreciation and understanding .
